Confusion would be an understatement to what Enya was feeling after the giant winged snake soared away. The gust of wind from his grand wings made the crimson girl fall over. Fear and anxiety washed over her causing her to hyperventilate. Where was she? Why was she here? Looking downwards at her new limbs she felt strange, wrong, and trapped. Enya wiggled her fingers and a surreal feeling came over her. This wasn’t right. She shivered as the air around her was cold and felt like death. Even though the grass was soft she still felt pain throb throughout her limbs. Glancing downwards once again, she saw her legs and wondered what they were for.
What was she supposed to do? Peering around, she saw others upright and already walking towards a distant village. She tried to copy their movements, slowly standing up. Finally when she was standing tall, her legs buckled and shook causing her to fall right back to her starting position. This process repeated over and over, until she could stand on her own. Now would be the difficult part, actually moving. Analyzing the others around her, she noticed that they would put one foot forwards first, then move the other. She tried doing such, and fell, over and over. Enya noticed others staring at her, some giggling, others had looks of pity. This only made her more anxious and caused her to fail more often. Doubt washed over her and she felt like she would never be able to walk, but  to survive, she couldn’t give up. Finally after a while she was able to walk, it was awkward but worked.
Even though she achieved such, she didn’t feel happy. Her body ached from the repetitive falling and it made her want to give up and sit back down. Enya knew she had to keep pressing on. She wanted to know why her new body felt so wrong, so strange. Then she remembered the snake’s words. “North, East, South, and West, these directions guide one's path in life, so too shall they direct one's fate.” But which direction would help her remember? Enya reluctantly decided to go North, but which way exactly was North? The other people around her were all heading towards the small village, maybe she should too.
The more she walked, the less awkward she looked. It would seem that all her effort hadn’t been in vain. The village was quaint, the houses lined in rows. In front of some of the houses stood merchants selling various goods. Enya tried to stay away from the others that had arrived with her, trying only to find a villager that could help guide her a path.
Suddenly a small child grabbed her hand, begging for food. Her chest tightened and her eyes became full of fear. She snapped her hand backwards, hard, causing her to fall over on her abdomen. Breathing heavy she glanced upwards at the child. There was nothing scary about the small person. He had brown hair, and was small and slender. His clothing was dirty overalls. The child, with a look of confusion asked. “What’s wrong with you lady?” Enya didn’t understand, she asked herself the same question, what was wrong with her?
“North,” She mumbled.
“What did you say?” The child asked raising one of his eyebrows.
“N-North,” Enya stuttered trying to slow her breaths.
“Ohhh north!” The child pointed in a direction. Giving the child no time to say anything else, Enya got up and walked in the direction the he pointed in. She needed to find out who she was, otherwise she would be stuck with these horrible feelings. Thus she started her grand journey.
